I teach people to write real good. I also teach them to forget just about everything they learned about writing in school (i.e. producing dry, academic tomes) and instead learn to get to the point, use language anyone can understand and employ lots of concrete, vivid examples.

I regularly teach business writing classes, where my goal is to help people write quick but effective corporate correspondence (a tangential goal is to reduce the volume of unnecessary e-mail that clutters their lives). I have also taught, at community colleges and elsewhere, a number of travel writing and freelance writing courses and workshops.
